About TEN:11 Defense

TEN:11 Defense is more than a company—it’s a mission.

Founded by Melvin J. A. Mendoza (author and USCCA Certified Instructor), TEN:11 Defense was created to address a growing concern: the increasing number of security breaches and acts of violence at houses of worship.

As more churches began forming armed volunteer security teams, one critical gap became clear—most were not receiving proper, real-world training.

While the intention to protect was strong, many teams relied heavily on theory, with little to no hands-on instruction guided by experienced professionals. In high-stress, life-threatening situations, that gap can be the difference between chaos and control.

TEN:11 Defense was built to close that gap.

By partnering with instructors from local and federal law enforcement and military backgrounds, we provide on-site, hands-on training designed specifically for the realities church security teams may face.

At the same time, our mission creates continued opportunities for retired law enforcement officers and military veterans—allowing them to apply their experience, continue serving with purpose, and help protect communities in a meaningful way.

Today, our training programs are led by Brandon Tagayun and a team of highly experienced professionals, delivering practical, real-world instruction that equips churches to respond with confidence, coordination, and clarity.

Why This Matters

Churches are meant to be places of peace, worship, and community—but they are no longer immune to the realities of the world around us.

Across the country, houses of worship—large and small, urban and rural—have become targets of violence. In many cases, those first critical moments determine the outcome long before law enforcement can arrive.

Good intentions alone are not enough.

Without proper training, even well-meaning security volunteers can face hesitation, confusion, or miscommunication in a moment that demands immediate, decisive action.

We believe protecting the congregation is not just a responsibility—it is a calling.

Preparation brings clarity.
Training builds confidence.
And the right mindset can save lives.

Beyond the Church: MISSION MIOSHE

What began as a response to protect houses of worship has quickly grown into a larger calling—embracing the timeless role of the shepherd protecting the flock.

TEN:11 is committed not only to security, but to protection in its fullest sense.

Through this mission, future profits from TEN:11 Defense Gear & Fuel will not only help us keep costs affordable to churches but also support initiatives beyond the church, including the fight against one of the darkest realities of our time—human trafficking.

Mission Mioshe was established to help fund and support trusted domestic and international organizations with proven infrastructure dedicated to combating and eliminating the trafficking of women and children.

Our Mission

To equip and empower those called to protect—
so others may worship without fear, the vulnerable are defended,
and those who have served can continue to serve with purpose.
